The answer: not quite. Printing an oversized hoodie sounds easy, but especially the first time, there are plenty of pitfalls. From the wrong material to poor print files to missed print positions – if you want to design your hoodie, you should know a few golden rules.
In this article, we’ll show you the top 5 mistakes many beginners make when printing hoodies – and how you can easily avoid them.
Not every hoodie is suitable for printing. Many choose cheap polyester blends because they’re inexpensive. But the prints don’t last as well, look less high-quality, and the fit often leaves much to be desired.
Better: Choose organic cotton with OEKO-TEX or GOTS certification, e.g., from Stanley/Stella. This is especially true if you want to print an oversized hoodie.
DTG on polyester? Flex printing on fleece? A lot can go wrong here. Not every technique fits every fabric or design. Our tip:
Blurry logos? Distorted designs? This often happens when the print files are too small or in the wrong format. Always make sure to:
at least 300 dpi resolution
CMYK color profile
transparent backgrounds (for PNGs)
vector files for logos
